ESA is the third largest volunteer contributor to St. Jude.

You will be "arrested" and escorted to the "jail" where you will be sentenced. dressed in stripes and jave your "mug shot" taken. You may also drive yourself to jail, if you wish. Once you are in jail, you will be allowed more than one phone call to obtain at least $500 in bail! Refreshments will be provided and when your "time" is up you will be "released from custody" and returned to work with a "clean record" and sincere thanks, it's that easy.

The (Almost) Essential List of Tailgating Must-Haves

If you’ve ever so much as taken a game-day stroll through a college stadium parking lot, then you probably already know the absolute essentials for tailgating:

Food
Beverage
Grill
Folding chairs
Appropriate vehicle to serve as “home base.” (Of course, we highly recommend a RAM truck – which provides lots of space and easy access to your tailgating essentials and almost-essentials.)

Almost Essentials
It’s these little extras that separate the simply-social parking lot parties from the serious tailgaters.

Team Gear – We’re talking jerseys, sweatshirts, big foam hands and – our favorite – those big hog hats (foam or stuffed). Throw in a can or two of face/body paint and everyone who passes through will know you mean business.
Toilet Paper – It’s a matter of simple math. Lots of people + Gallons of beer + Tons of beef, pork, chicken and chips = long lines at the porta johns. Stadium-lot owners don’t typically employ housekeepers to restock these things every half-hour, so you and your guests will be very thankful you had the foresight to bring your own T.P.
Team Flag – Better get one that’s unique, because this isn’t just a decoration. When you and your guests return from the porta john (roll of T.P. in hand) you’ll be able to quickly find your group underneath the flag raised high above your tailgate.
Activities – Most folks hit the stadium lot 3-5 hours before kickoff and don’t pull up stakes until 1-2 hours after the final whistle. So unless several people at your party have a great gift for gab, you’ll want to provide them with something else to do. Bag Toss, Beer Pong, Frisbee and football are always favorites. On the other hand, we don’t recommend breaking out the ol’ Monopoly board. The pre-game adrenaline will be high and the ability to concentrate will be low. As sure as death and taxes, this game is certain to end with a game board flipped in anger and money, hotels, Community Chest cards and a metal shoe scattered throughout the tailgate site.
Antacid/Antigas – How do you spell relief after a full day of fun, food and football? R-O-L-A-I-D-S! We’d also accept T-U-M-S or B-E-A-N-O.

Beat the Heat and Protect Your Seat.

When you were a kid, ever jump from couch to coffee table to recliner hoping to avoid the lava you imagined flowed through your family room?

Last week, this scenario suddenly popped back into my head just as I sat down in my car – a car that spent the day baking under the scorching sun. But in this case, it was ALL lava. Seat. Steering wheel. Belt buckle. Stick shift. Everything! However, there was no couch or La-Z-Boy on which to seek refuge. It was HOT and I had no choice but to suck it up and take it.

But by thinking ahead, there are plenty of ways you can protect your car and yourself from the sweltering heat.

1) Accessorize the leather – Anyone who has ever plopped down on leather seats that have been roasting under the sun can tell you that “hot pants” don’t have quite the same appeal during the dog days of summer. So unless you’re hoping to get a bit more color on your keester, try covering the leather with a towel or cloth seat cover. Stylish? Not really. But you’ll be saved from a burnt bum.

2) Protect your valuables – In direct sunlight on a hot day, your car’s internal temperature can top 180 degrees. So you must be careful what’s left behind in you car. I’m not just talking about kids and pets – those are a given. I’m referring to products that can be damaged by the intense heat:

a. Prescriptions – The chemical makeup can change.

b. Lighters and alkaline batteries – May leak and/or explode.

c. Cosmetics – They may melt

d. Canned carbonated beverages – Kaboom!

e. Bottle water – Chemicals from plastic can leach into the drink.

f. Aerosol cans – Cabin temperatures above 120 degrees can create, you guessed it, an explosion.

So if you don’t want to spend the evening using soda can shrapnel to scrape Cheese Wiz off your vehicle’s interior, better not leave any of these items in your car.

3) Park in the Shade – This is, of course, the most obvious of solutions. But speaking as someone who will circle the lot multiple times in order to secure the “best spot,” parking in the shade isn’t the option some of us always choose (much to the chagrin of my long-suffering spouse). But on a hot day, the shaded space is, indeed, the “best spot.” The shade not only protects your car’s interior, but it also extends the life of your air conditioner – which won’t be forced to work so hard. Plus it protects your car battery from being prematurely drained (yep, that happened to me too).

4) Use a Windshield Shade – If a spot shielded from the sun’s rays can’t be found, the next best option is to simply put up a windshield shade. As long as your car is pointing toward the sun, the shield should provide appreciable relief from the heat – especially if you leave the windows open an inch or so. However, if you should experience a headache or sudden blood loss, exit the vehicle and request an immediate tow to the Breeden service department. And next time, be sure to remove the sun shade before driving off.

Ten Surefire Ways to Improve Gas Mileage

Although everyone loves to hear you sing along with your stereo, it’s better to drive with the windows closed. Open windows actually reduce gas mileage compared to using the A/C.
But if you don't “need” the A/C, turn it off and use the fan instead. The A/C compressor puts an extra strain on the engine.
If possible, stay clear of stop-and-go rush hour traffic.
Drive 55 mph rather than 75 mph. If you can lift that lead foot a little, you’ll get up to 25% better gas mileage.
Keep it smooth and steady. Use your cruise control whenever possible.
Kick that kegger out of the car. That extra weight is a drain on gas mileage.
Invest in your engine with synthetic motor oil or standard oil treated with a friction reducing oil additive. You may be able to improve fuel economy up to 12%.
Keep your engine tuned up. Incorrect fuel ratio, bad spark plugs and incorrect spark timing can have a big effect on gas mileage.
Next hunting trip, put Bambi in the passenger seat. Bulky items on roof of hood create wind resistance and make the engine work harder.
Consider a car that gets great gas mileage. All three Breeden locations have plenty!

Pre-owned Car Buying Made Simple – Part 3

This is the final entry in a three part series where we provide you with an in-depth look at the Pre-owned car buying process. The previous two articles contained valuable insight into the basics of pre-owned car buying, and if it is a good time to sell your vehicle. Our third article explains how to make the deal work for you.

Making the deal work for you
According to the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) the resale and trade-in values for well-maintained late model vehicles is at an all time high. This trend is in response to increased demand by consumers for pre-owned cars with reliability and longevity.

When you decide to sell, or trade-in your vehicle to a dealership remember three important pieces of information.

1. The nature of business and customer service: Individuals did not go into business to lose money, and no matter how long ago they started, the companies they built still deserve to make a profit. With that being said, the dealership should make every effort within reason to accommodate the customer in order to make a long lasting relationship. It has always been and will always be easier to sell to someone you have already sold to rather than finding a new customer.
2. Market values: Everything related to business is based on market values or supply and demand. If the vehicle you own is in high demand, then you may be able to get a high value for it. If the vehicle you own is not in high demand, then you will probably not get much for it. Your car may hold significant emotional value to you, and be worth quite a bit in your eyes; however, that emotional value does not change the actual value of the vehicle, and what a dealership could get one for at an auto auction.
3. Common courtesy: As the dealership should strive for a strong value of customer service, the customer should also strive for a strong value of courtesy. Although some dealerships may try to take advantage of you, that is not the case for all dealerships. It is in your best interest to build a strong relationship with the dealership just as much as keeping you a loyal customer is in theirs.

Above all else, please remember that behavior breeds behavior and if either party is too rigid, uncompromising, and unwilling to understand the facts; then the deal will suffer and a valuable partnership will be lost.

Is it a good time to sell?
In a surprising twist of events during the recession the value of pre-owned vehicles increased while the price of homes decreased. At this moment, if you own a well maintained, late model vehicle built within the last 3-5 years, then you may have a great opportunity to upgrade.

Maintaining the value of a vehicle after driving it off the dealership lot is very difficult. One of the best ways to get as much out the car as you can is to keep very detailed records of the maintenance performed, when it happened, and who serviced it.

With pre-owned prices trending upward to an all time high, you may have an unusual opportunity to get the most for your trade-in. Remember that the biggest factor in business is market forces also known as supply and demand. If the demand for your vehicle is high, then you may have a chance to make a strong trade in your favor. If the demand is low then you may not receive as much as you would like.

Pre-Owned Car Buying Made Simple – The Basics

This is the first of a three part series where we provide you with an in-depth look at the pre-owned car buying process. We will start with the basics then move on to if it is a good time to sell your car, and finish with making the deal work for you.

Car buying is a time consuming process, and at times may also be difficult. You will get frustrated, you will be thrilled, but, in the end, purchasing a car does not need to be stressful. If you are willing to follow these steps, I can promise to improve your car buying experience, and reduce the amount of stress you might feel.

Step 1 – Relax
This time is going to be different. Forget any bad experiences you may have had in the past. You are in control of whether or not you buy a car. So take a deep breath and let’s get started.

Step 2 – Do your homework
When I sold cars one of the best customers to work with was the one that came in prepared. With so many avenues for gaining information about such a large purchase, it is ludicrous to think that you can stroll onto a car lot and end up with the perfect vehicle. Before heading out to the dealership take some time to think about the type of vehicle you want, and why you want to make the purchase.

Every dealership in the world wants to sell you a car, but the dealerships that keep you happy and develop a relationship with you are the ones that will sustain your business.

Step 3 – Run the numbers
Have some understanding as to how much you can truly afford. A good rule of thumb is that for every $5,000 financed, you will pay around $100 per month. Depending on your budget, you do not want to start looking at the $100,000 car only to discover that you cannot afford it. I’ve seen people go from an extreme emotional high to the pit of the earth when they realize their dream car does not fit into their budget.

Step 4 – MOST IMPORTANT!!!
This step is absolutely critical when making a large purchase, and will save you a lot of stress. Do not believe the closeout-blowout-everything must go car sale or the random word on the street. Chances are very good that the deal or tip is not really all that great

Car Chases Make Movies Better

What makes a great action movie? The cast of movie stars? The amount of special effects used? Or maybe the anticipation we feel when the hero has a shortening window of time when trying to save the day?

Those are all very important elements of great action movies, but many of us here at Breeden Dodge Chrysler Jeep feel that car chases are what make action movies great. Our newest contender for the title of “great action movie” is the film Fast Five. After being released to theaters on Friday April 29th, 2011, the movie grossed $86,198,765 its opening weekend. This large amount sales is quite surprising, especially when you incorporate the fact that the film is the fifth in a series of movies started in 2001. Typically, most films stand alone, and on occasion merit a sequel. Rarely do we find a movie that can produce four additional storylines which keep the audience entertained, and stay true to the original film’s core values.

What sets this new movie apart from its predecessors, and the competition? It is not the fact that the majority of the original cast has returned, nor the use of automatic weapons to infiltrate a secure facility. What sets this movie apart is the Dodge vehicles that make the amazing car chase scenes possible. In the film you will see the main characters drive a 1970 Dodge Charger, a 2011 Dodge Charger as a police vehicle, and the jaw-dropping 2010 Matte Black Charger used in the climactic bank vault chase scene.

One thing that will look good in 10 years is the 2011 Chrysler 300. It has been designed after Bentley and Rolls Royce, two brands with very good looking cars. Chrysler gave the 300 something that America has forgotten about, style and class. You might be wondering what does Detroit know about style and class? Take a look at the entire 2011 lineup and you will see exactly what Detroit knows about style and class.

Consider the 300 a way to reignite the American dream. Let’s have car designs that are more inspirational. A car that makes you feel proud, that you love to show off. It’s amazing what the principles of yesterday have done to enhance our vehicles today. Getting into a car was not about going from point A to point B in a hurry. Taking a drive was a luxury, and people loved to cruise in a classy car.

Jeep Grand Cherokee

Sales of the Jeep Grand Cherokee have been incredible this year due to the fact that the redesigned fourth-generation model took what was great about previous versions and improved upon them. Don’t get me wrong, with a name like Jeep the vehicle must be competent for off-roading. The engineers made certain that the latest Grand Cherokee did not lose its off-roading capabilities, and were able to improve the city driving at the same time.

The New Grand Cherokee handy feature that I would have loved when I was unloading groceries or the mulch is the power rear lift gate. Also included in certain models is the blind spot warning system.

70 Years in the Making

In 1941 the U.S. Military requested that a light reconnaissance 4-wheel drive vehicle be built before entering World War II. Of the 135 companies that were asked for a working prototype only two responded. After 70 years the Jeep brand has become a household name synonymous with all terrain and off-road travel.

Even after 70 years the Jeep Wrangler looks a lot like the initial Jeep Willys MA produced for the U.S. Army. We have become so familiar with the boxy shape and design of the Wrangler that if Jeep even considered changing the style, crowds of angry fans will come crashing down on them. Not many things can withstand the test of time, let alone 70 years. If you want a vehicle that will be high quality, long lasting, and look good in another 10 years, then go with a Jeep Wrangler.

The flagship of Jeep has shifted from the Wrangler to the Grand Cherokee over the last 20 years. Now in its fourth generation redesign the Grand Cherokee is still one of the top sellers in the SUV market. New levels of excellence have been reached after refinement of the interior by engineers. Not only has the interior been enhanced, but the city driving capabilities have also been improved.

With such a strong history behind them, and a promising future the Jeep brand is sure to live on for another 70 years.

Reconsider Your Ideas About Detroit

Super Bowl XLV was an emotional time for fans with a lot of ups and downs, twists and turns, and several unexpected happenings. One particularly intense spot stands out in our minds. This $9 million, non-traditional 2 minute spot began to change the preconceptions about Detroit.

Did you think we were talking about the game?

We are of course talking about the Chrysler 200 commercial featuring rap superstar Eminem. As we mentioned in a previous article this advertising spot did not hold back in telling you exactly what Detroit does, and does well. “This is motor city, and this is what we do.”

Chrysler has been delivering several surprises lately in the wake of the Super Bowl. The automaker has seen considerable demand for the new Jeep Grand Cherokee which was named the only U.S. finalist for the World Car of the Year award. Demand has been so high that the vehicle has seen sales soar over 130 percent.

One reason why the demand for Chrysler vehicles has increased over the past 10 months is the dramatic upgrade of the interior design. Traditionally, the interior has been very sparse with a drab gray plastic coating. The new lineup features a more comfortable, spacious, and inviting cabin.

Another reason for the increased demand is that after merging with Fiat the Chrysler mindset has been one of building a quality vehicle. This trend will continue into the future, and there is definitely a growing population of individuals talking about Chrysler. By keeping up with ground breaking advertisements and consumer demands the Detroit automaker is definitely making a comeback.

This is the Motor City, and This is What we do

Chrysler’s super bowl advertisement is still making headlines long after the super bowl. For those of you who have not seen the commercial, it has piqued viewers’ interest of Detroit, the Chrysler brand, and the new Chrysler 200. Unexpectedly, the on-air spot and now internet viral spot has responded well with viewers in large cities like Los Angeles, and Seattle. What remains to be seen is if that positive response will turn into steady sales.

Only two short years ago few if any believed the “Big Three” Detroit automakers would rebound from the bailout provided by the U.S. Government. In June 2010 critics were shown just how strongly Chrysler was committed to regaining its place as a driving force in the auto industry by emerging from court protection. In late January 2011, Fiat’s chief executive Sergio Marchionne serving as dual CEO of Fiat and Chrysler, announced a $652 million overall loss for 2010. That amount is down from the $8 billion overall loss for 2009. However, an operating profit of $198 million was seen in the fourth quarter of last year which is leading up to the projected profit between $200 million and $500 million in 2011.

At this point in time Chrysler is experiencing a rebirth, a renaissance within the company, and will be able to deliver the turnaround so desperately needed by consumers. Expect more non-traditional marketing from Chrysler that does not involve the standard car sales pitch over the next several months on television and over the internet

Keyless Entry – A Helpful Tool for Car Thieves?

According to the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation, vehicle theft is on the decline and has been for several years. A key factor in the crime rate decrease has been the greater use of keyless entry systems by manufacturers in their new models. Since their introduction in the late 1980s it has become more difficult for a consumer to find a baseline vehicle without a keyless entry system. This technology has been an incredible leap forward in the war against crime, but a few ingenious minds have started to overcome the anti-theft device.

In the most basic sense, remote keyless entry systems use radio waves to lock, unlock, open the trunk, or activate the alarm on your vehicle. The radio waves have been predetermined by the vehicle manufacturer, and are typically encrypted when transmitted from the key fob to the receiver. Researchers in Switzerland have found that these encrypted signals are easy to intercept and deceive. The act of overcoming the anti-theft system is fairly complicated; however it may see an increase in popularity due to the low cost of the equipment (purchased between $100-$1,000) and the anonymity behind the crime.

Hacking a key fob will allow entry into a vehicle, but the thief will not be able to start cars that come equipped with traditional keys. At this time only vehicles that have a push-button start system are the ones that can be driven away by use of this hack. The scary aspect of this is that the high tech car thief will not leave any signs of a forced entry, which will create problems for police attempting to track down the criminals.

10 Steps for the First Time Car Buyer

Buying a new vehicle is an exciting moment in life. It should be celebrated instead of dreaded. Many people do not like purchasing a car because of several factors. Factors such as: bad experiences in the past, novice salespeople that use pressure tactics, and not enough information being provided. We are ready to bring the fun back to purchasing a car. No longer will you feel pressured, rushed, or uncomfortable with the buying process. Follow these steps to save yourself time, money, and be happy with your new vehicle.

Purchasing a Car: The Steps

Step 1: Why do I want to buy a car? What need or desire are you trying to overcome? Ask yourself all of the preliminary questions before beginning to look for a vehicle. How will you pay for it, and how much can you afford?
Step 2: What features do I want in the vehicle? Select a type of vehicle to purchase. There are many options available some for free, and some for an additional cost.
Step 3: Research online because it is the best tool of the informed consumer. Now that you know what type of vehicle you would like, and what features you enjoy. You can do product comparisons, and see what the market value is for similar automobiles in that class.
Step 4: Initial dealership visit. Get the feel for the environment, and the type of service the dealership is providing. How quickly are you greeted? What questions are they asking you, are they interested in getting you the vehicle that meets your needs?
Use this visit to gather the information you need to make an intelligent buying decision. Decide whether or not you want to spend your money at this dealership or with someone else. If you are treated professionally, they respect your time, and are willing to value your business, then you should purchase from that dealership.
Step 5: Research online. Now you are looking for reviews of the dealership itself, and not the vehicle. The best type of business transaction is one where both parties benefit. Creating a long lasting business partnership is valuable to both you and the seller.
Also, if you have a vehicle to trade in have the estimated values from Kelly Blue Book, NADA, and Kelly Black Book if possible. These resources provide an approximate market value for your trade. As an informed customer you should have a realistic amount you would like for the trade. The salesperson should provide you with the current market value, as well as what the dealership feels your vehicle is worth.
Step 6: Test drive. This should be done at least once if not multiple times. Make sure that you enjoy the drive, and have all of your questions answered.
Step 7: Sit down to talk numbers. Be prepared with as much information as you can. Understand that you do not want this to be a long drawn out process, and are serious about purchasing the vehicle. If you have followed the previous steps in this article then you will already know the value of the vehicle before sitting down. At this point you should know the MSRP, and what the total amount the dealership is asking for after installed accessories. Costs typically include but are not limited to a destination fee, an administrative fee, dealer installed accessories, and processing fee.
If you are negotiating a vehicle trade, understand that the dealership incurs many costs when taking in trades such as: Cleaning / Reconditioning, Advertising, and Vehicle Demand.
If the demand for your vehicle is low, then do not expect to get very much for your trade.
Several things affect the value of your trade.
Step 8: Finalize the numbers. If the Salesperson or Sales Manager is not willing to negotiate price see if there are other perks they offer. Will they provide you with any free oil changes? Do they have a complimentary car wash whenever you stop by? DO NOT attempt to get everything in the store for free! Remember that the dealership is in business to make money, and that the sales person works on commission. Understand the value of your trade, and the value of new vehicle. Now come to an agreeable amount including perks. If they are a professional dealership they will not try to swindle you, and on that same token you should be a professional customer and do not try to swindle the dealership.
Step 9: Purchase the vehicle. This will typically occur in the Finance Department even if you are not financing the new vehicle. By this point you are excited about your new purchase, and cannot wait to show it off!
Step 10: Follow up. What perks did the dealership offer? Did they contact you within a week to make sure that you are happy? Are they making good on the things they promised you?

Overall the best advice is to be as informed as possible when making any purchase. Know how much you are willing to spend, and be sure that you are comfortable with the dealership. We pride ourselves on being focused on our customers, and value your business.

If your looking for everything good that owning a Jeep has to offer but want to drive a small to mid-sized SUV, then the 2011 Jeep Liberty will have everything you need in a vehicle.

The 2011 Liberty’s 3.7-liter V6 produces 210 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 235 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm and combined with the 4-speed automatic transmission give you an ideal drive-train for on-road, off-road and towing.

The Electronic Stability Control combines ABS brakes, All-Speed Traction Control and a stability system to give you the all-season capability of front-wheel drive with the performance of rear-wheel drive. It determines when to apply the brakes to one or more wheels, and when to reduce engine torque in critical driving situations. As always, performance is limited by available traction, which snow, ice and other conditions can affect so stay alert and always be careful not to overdrive conditions..

This electronically controlled full-time 4WD system allows the driver to choose between two-wheel-drive or full-time four-wheel-drive (4WD Auto) modes. In 4WD Auto, Selec-Trac II® sends torque to both front and rear axles under nearly all conditions. If wheel slippage occurs, the integrated traction control system helps transfer torque to those wheels with traction. Neutral mode permits flat towing without the need to disconnect linkages. Selec-Trac is a registered trademark of Chrysler Group LLC

The 2011 Liberty’s Antilock brakes are equipped with electronic sensors that prevent wheel lockup, offering improved steering control under extreme braking or slippery conditions. Traction control uses sensors to determine how fast each wheel is turning. If the sensors indicate a certain wheel slipping during acceleration, the system applies braking power to that wheel to help it regain traction.

The Liberty is equipped with a transmission skid plate, fuel tank skid plate, transfer case skid plate and front suspension skid plate designed for maximum protection when the undercarriage is exposed to rocks or other debris encountered in off-road conditions.

You’ll find the interior of the 2011 Liberty to be technologically advanced as well as cargo friendly. Power heated exterior mirrors w/manual fold-away and power windows with driver's one-touch-down feature are plus for any vehicle. There’s the Electronic Vehicle Information Center and Media Center 130 with CD/MP3 radio, SIRIUS Satellite Radio and Audio Jack. Uconnect™ voice command of hands free phone and music, is available on select models.

The release 2011 Dodge Challenger is obviously a big event for the Muscle Car enthusiast but this vehicle is truly a car for anyone interested in head-turning style and 21st century technology.

First, for those interested in pure power, the 2011 Challenger will get a 6.4L Hemi boasting around 500bhp and be more fuel efficient than the 6.1L unit currently found in the 2010 Dodge Challenger. More power with more fuel economy… that’s a win-win for the acceleration junkies.
The long-hood, short-deck shape, wide grille, graceful roofline, and full-width tail lamps will continue to honor the 1970 Challenger two-door coupe. Challenger is significantly larger than the Mustang and Camaro competitors and the payoff is the softest ride, widest cockpit, and roomiest rear seat in the class. In fact, Challenger is the only one of the three that has seating positions for five passengers instead of four. This will give Challenger a broader appeal for the family man that still wants to drive something cool.

The 2011 Challenger will retain its rear-wheel-drive layout but the hot new 3.6-liter dubbed the “Pentastar” V-6 will be a welcome addition to powertrain options. Debuting in the all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, it’s an advanced dual-overhead cam design with variable valve timing and is initially rated at 280 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque.

Head-protecting curtain side airbags for both seating rows will be standard. Same for a manual tilt/telescope steering wheel, power driver’s seat, and a split rear seat back that folds to create a cargo-passage from the trunk. The 2011 Challenger’s five-speed automatic transmission will again feature a separate gate for manual-type gear changes, while the six-speed manual’s lever will again be topped with a 1970s-style pistol-grip handle.

Other returning options will include a power sunroof, remote engine start for automatic-transmission models, and xenon headlamps and a functional hood scoop for R/T models. SRT8 models come with xenons, function hood scoops, leather upholstery, special sport bucket front seats, and dashboard readouts that track 0-60-mph acceleration times, lateral G-forces, and other lead-foot data. Leather upholstery will return as an option on SE and R/T models, accompanied by heated front seats and mirrors. Also available again will be a voice-activated navigation system with real-time traffic information; Chrysler’s Uconnect multimedia system that includes USB iPod interface and steering-wheel audio controls; and sound systems that range to a 368-watt setup with seven Boston Acoustic speakers.

The 2011 Dodge Challenger will be hitting the showroom floors quickly and hitting the streets even faster. It’s sure to take you back to the future in a heartbeat.

The interior also includes a USB connection for iPods and other MP3 players plus the ride is a lot quieter now after much attention was put on noise reduction in the new interior.

Dad may have a hard time getting used to the look of the 4-door unlimited Wrangler that has been growing in popularity ever since the introduction but he has to appreciate this feature when dropping off the grand kids and having them pop in and out of the back doors while he sits comfortable in the front. Steps just under the doors make getting in and out easier and you can expect the new Wrangler to handle much better on city streets.

The Wrangler just keeps getting better and there’s never been a better time to start your own family tradition with the new 2011 Jeep Wrangler. Please let your dad drive it at least once for old time’s sake.

The Dodge Brand continues Chrysler Group's vehicle momentum with the new 2011 Dodge Journey – designed to be a mid-size crossover with “right sized” proportions for today's family that wants it all

For 2011, Dodge takes what was good and makes it better. The Dodge Journey receives a major overhaul with a completely redesigned and retuned suspension, a new V-6 engine and a new interior with room from up to five- to seven-passenger seating.

And that's not all.

Journey also features the Chrysler Group's new PowerNet electrical architecture: touch-screen command center, Uconnect Touch. The Uconnect Touch combines everything from navigation to dual-zone climate controls to the ability to check fuel prices.

Chrysler Group engineers improved routine ride handling in the 2011 Dodge Journey by re-engineering the suspension geometry, adding new, improved premium tires and redesigning the steering for a more precise and coordinated response.

With 283 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, the 2011 Dodge Journey is equipped with the new 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine that delivers a 20 percent boost in power compared with the V-6 engine it replaces.

Drivers also will be treated to a smooth, quiet ride. Engineers reduced noise, vibration and harshness by installing new, premium sound-deadening treatments and insulation throughout the vehicle.

Most rewarding surprise

But perhaps the most rewarding surprise is Journey's new interior. A beautifully crafted one-piece instrument panel sets the tone. A new, larger cluster with standard electronic vehicle information center (EVIC) is positioned in the center of the new gauges. It's a full-color display backlit in Dodge red lights, giving it a soft glow unlike any in the segment.

New, integrated center stack bezels are less angular and more sculpted, and designers softened the radius to make more room for the driver's knees. The heating and cooling outlets are also redesigned to make them better looking and better functioning.

The center console gets a lot of extra cushion on the tilt-and-slide armrest. Lift the lid, and there's a larger center storage bin with a 12-volt outlet and USB port where owners can hook up their MP3/iPod charging connections and hide them away.

Journey also is loaded with an abundance of safety and security features, including:

standard advanced multi-stage front passenger air bags,
active head restraints,
electronic stability control (ESC) with all-speed traction control,
electronic roll mitigation and brake assist,
new driver-side knee blocker air bag,
supplemental side-curtain air bags covering all three rows,
supplemental front-seat-mounted side air bags,
four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes,
LATCH child seat anchor system, and
trailer sway control.

The Dodge Journey is built at Chrysler Group LLC's Toluca Assembly Plant in Toluca, Mexico. It will arrive in U.S. dealerships during fourth quarter of 2010.

Well the chase is on, and to know one's surprise, number 48 Jimmie Johnson is back in the lead. The way this teams performs during these last weeks of the racing season, is just amazing. They stay focused and on top of their game no matter what is thrown at them. As for our Dodge guys, Kurt is hanging in there at 6th place. Though he is not out of the picture yet, with the way Jimmie is running I do not see anyone taking the number one spot from the number 48. Brad looks like he will win the Nationwide Series Championship. That is great news for this young kid, as he has had some serious run ins on the cup side. The car of tomorrow Challenger in the Nationwide Series is one sharp car. It looks more like the real car that we sell than anything has in a long time. On the horsepower side of things, Dodge will be releasing a 392 hemi next year that not only will get better fuel mileage, but also around 495 horsepower. So to think that the SRT8 vehicles we have now will come with approximately 50 more horsepower but get better fuel mileage next year is great. With all of this being done in Detroit, maybe Penske can turn it up a notch next year and put 2 cars in the chase.
